1. When solar panel is installed, the tilt and direction of the panel should be optimized to generate the most electricity possible over the course of a year.
2. If the ground is too hard, do not twist or hammer the spike with force.

4. The solar lights should be fully charged by direct sunlight for 6-8 hours before initial use.

I let my girls put these up in their room. Having the solar panel charged by either the bed room light or the sun shinning in the window works well. The lights automatically come on when the lights go out. They are not so bright that they light up the whole room but they are enough to see where you are going. The kids think they are so cool and really enjoy having them.
